Cody is a great horse that loves people. He's the type of horse that really wants to be your best friend. He says "hello" to everyone that comes into the barn, and he loves attention. Very much likes to be in your pocket. Cody clips, loads, bathes, shoes, etc. He is a very easy keeper (stays fat on just hay or grass....gets no grain). He has a very nice, long mane and tail. He is white with large, grey leapord spots all over his body. An absolutely beautiful horse!
Cody has been used extensively in an Equine Assisted Therapy program for patients with mental & developmental disabilities. He is a kind, gentle pro at dealing with individuals with challenging verbal and physical behavior. Very little seems to bother this horse. He patiently walks behind the handler with or without a lead. He works in a round pen or on a lounge line with verbal & hand signals. He has also been used for riding lessons for students without disabilities.
He has been trained & shown in lower level dressage. He also neckreins, gives to pressure, backs, side-passes, etc. He lopes on que, and he rides english and western (with tight back girth). He's a calm gentle horse for a beginning rider, but he also has the training to make him a fun ride for an experienced rider.
Though Cody's past experiences have mostly been in the arena, we have started riding him on trails & the road. He's doing great. He's very brave, and he responds well to his rider. Occasionally, there are some things on the roads/trails that he has not seen before, but he responds really well to the rider (and usually goes on past the objects with mild coaxing). With a little more fall trail riding, he will be a wonderful trail horse.
