Fortune is a lovely 2002, 16.3 h. Bay Holsteiner-cross gelding by the reg. Holsteiner stallion, Future (18 h.), who is located at :www,HartlandEquestrianCenter, and out of a 16 h. chestnut Appendix mare, Incredible Sable by Vindaloo. He was started under saddle at 4 1/2 yrs. old, with ground work and long-lining starting several months earlier, and has been with two of the best trainers in the mid-Ohio Valley ever since. (You can check them both out online for yourself! Ron Kohlhoff, Wakeman, OH, and Nancy Sterrett, head dressage instructor, Meredith Manor Int. Equestrian Center, where Fortune currently is). Nancy has had him a year, and 8 mos. now in full-time training, and has taken several horses to Grand Prix level herself over the past 25 years of her career. Both Ron and Nancy have established an excellent foundation, and this is something very hard to find. Currently going in the snaffle and in the double, doing shoulder-in, lateral work, c.canter, started flying-changes, and is SO willing to jump! Very honest and bold...not stopping or avoiding them. He's very easily free-jumping 3' 6" to 4.0' and up to 3' with a rider. He's not a "hot" horse, but is very forward moving and thinking and sensitive to the aids. Fortune NEVER runs out of energy, even on extremely hot days he does very well. He also has a much faster-than-average recovery time after a hard work-out. I bred him myself, so I've been his only owner and know he's had THE BEST care available at all times. He's completely sound with a good mind and isn't at all spooky and has good work ethic, too. Is best suited for an intermediate to upper-level rider. Fortune's very good to work with and to tack-up, and has good ground manners. He doesn't rear, or have any bad habits, i.e., cribbing, or wood chewing, and has never had any injuries which caused lameness issues. His hooves and feet are great...large, and in proportion to him, and have always stayed healthy and solid, and stands well for the head farrier at Meredith Manor. He also likes grooming and baths, cross-ties and trailers well (walks right up my ramp without problems). Is ridden around many horses all the time, inside and outside and loves attention.
